How is your stress level these days? Feeling the pinch of way too many things to do and not enough daylight? I have been for a while now. There are ways to combat these anxious feelings, and the simplest and most effective is something you’re already doing right now: breathe. But wait, you’re probably doing it wrong.
When I get wrapped around the axle, my breathing becomes very shallow and I notice that I sigh a lot. Shallow breathing sends a message to my body that I am in survival mode and adrenaline kicks in, causing me to take more short gasps for air!
Sit back for twenty seconds and breathe in, filling your lungs until you can feel them expand. Now slowly breathe out. If you’ve got another twenty seconds, do it again. Then get back to work. Your body will thank you.
