Jesus Didn’t Die on The Cross for Me (Or for You)

This was written by one of my all-time favorite people, a woman who has taught me so much over the years, and happens to be my daughter.

From the time I was able to understand the idea of dying on a cross, up until just a few weeks ago, I honestly thought, “Big deal. If everyone’s life was at stake, I would die on the cross for them too.”

The truth is, having your hands and feet nailed to wood, wearing a crown of thorns and hanging by your hands for hours is incredibly painful- but it’s just not that big of a deal.

But obviously, Jesus dying for us was, in fact, a HUGE deal.

So, what are we missing?

Luke 22: 39-46 is all about Jesus praying on the Mount of Olives right before he was crucified. After reading this scripture, it is obvious that Jesus was terrified of what was coming.
