Last Sunday my guy and I taught the 5th grade class at church. The lesson was all about the importance of the poetic books of the Bible, and helping the kids understand the differences between the Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. There is always a craft after the lesson, and this week we were to make a calendar in booklet form, choosing verses for each day of the week. The idea was that this was something they could use throughout the week to help them hide scripture in their hearts.
Yesterday after work I noticed my guy’s wallet was on the bar in the kitchen with his scripture booklet right up next to it, he had taken his verses to work with him. I love the fact that my guy isn’t above learning from what is being taught to the children, and implementing the very thing the kids use to rely on scripture more. He is teachable and open to God, what a blessing.
Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3
Travis was in a leadership bible class a while back, one night as part of their lesson, they hung out with Little Village – he said all of the guys in class were enthralled. He also said there is much to learn from a simple kids lesson.
