Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
I have to confess I haven’t figured this one out yet. I love God and I am grateful for the many blessings in my life, the biggest being provided with eternal salvation when I couldn’t begin to deserve it. Still, I have to be reminded so often of His continual presence and work in my life. This is evidence, in my opinion, that I’m not excelling in the area of loving God with all my heart, soul and strength. The only way to love someone is to have some form of relationship with them, so this should translate into an ongoing conversation with God. A loving conversation is not an outpouring of your own stuff and walking away, it has give and take and silence can be welcome. When you love someone, you want their opinions and guidance, as well as their encouragement. This and more can be expected from a relationship with God.
