No one will know if I choose to drink a chocolate milkshake instead of a fruit and vegetable smoothie today.
And no one will know if I decide to skip my workouts for the week.
Of course, that milkshake is going to make the workout tougher to endure, if I do it at all. And if I choose not to exercise, it’s that much harder to start back again next week….
It can be so easy to justify behavior in the moment, with the base rationale being, ‘no one will ever know’.
The truth is, it shows.
Whether you are cheating on your diet or your taxes or your spouse, it shows. You’re not fooling anyone but yourself.
Have you read the book “Made to Crave” by Lysa Terkeurst? I am reading it right now and she makes a similar point, saying our bodies “tell secrets” about what we do and what we eat.
