I know we may seem crazy to you, but we really, truly just want you to listen most of the time.
But if you notice a nail sticking out of MY head, please do more than listen….

HAHAHA!!!!!!! Ah yes. I have no idea what you’re talking about… I’ve never done this. Poor husband of mine… 🙂
Nope, me neither, but I hear it happens all the time…riiiight….
Scary how real this is in my life!!
Wow this is like a confirmation for me! My mother teaches a marriage class at our church and last week we discussed this very thing. ” Don’t try to fix it, just listen”. (A BIG flaw most of us men have.) She gave us all advise on what she and my dad do. They have an agreement that when they just need to be heard they say… “Right now I need you to be a friend”. Great post, thanks!
I’m not sure it’s a flaw, we need men to be problem solvers, it’s just that we don’t necessarily want them to solve ours! A couple of weeks ago my guy was out of town and I was really frustrated with our teen son for something. I vented about it to my guy and his reply was simply, “Wow, that must be frustrating for you to deal with alone. I wish I was there to help.” It was all I needed to hear! Validated my feelings but didn’t fix a thing.
They played this at a marriage conference we just attended. Love It!!!
