Poison and Wine

This haunting song perfectly describes some of the mystery of marriage: ‘I don’t love you, not always, but I always will’. It’s a great reminder to me that love is a verb, not a noun….a daily choosing.

Can you listen carefully to the words and relate to some part of it?

‘Your mouth is poison, your mouth is wine’, women, may we be reminded that we have the power to kill and the power to intoxicate with our words.

‘You think your dreams are the same as mine’, men, may you be big enough to make room for your bride’s dreams, not just your own.

May we daily choose one another, and commit to staying in it.

  1. It’s so easy for a woman’s dreams to be consumed by her role as devoted wife and nurturing mother. It’s so easy for a man to think those two roles are her only dream. It’s so easy to think because I know what you are, I know who you are. It’s so easy to think we know things we do not.

I don’t always know as much as I think I do, but I do know there is another Sis waiting to be known and others are waiting and ready to know her. Answer the call. A higher purpose awaits.
