“You’re not from around here. Where are you from?”
Not my favorite question. How do you answer when you have lived in nine states, moving a total of 18 times? Do you give the whole list of places lived, only tell the latest one, or maybe the longest you stayed? Regions of the country?
I still haven’t figured it out. Usually people don’t want to know all the details; they simply want to know what makes you different.
Oh Lord, let my difference be You, not me.

Humm…. just answer simpl, that you are a child of God and your real home is in heaven. 🙂 You are just temporarly on earth, in its many vast places. 🙂
Amen! Took me years to really get it, though. Thanks so much for your response!
As always, 🙂
Right back at ya, 🙂
Love this post! Reminds me of a song we sang in church when I was growing up “This world is not my home, I’m just a stranger passing through” Thanks be to God this isn’t our final home! Really am loving your blog 🙂
I need that song on my playlist! Thank you for your kind words.
Love this: Oh Lord, let my difference be You, not me. – I want others to only see Christ in me! WE are not of this world although we live in it because we have yet to reach Heaven, our real HOME. Let’s tell others where we are really from and invite them to go with us! ;0)
You just got a ‘Yes Lord’ out of me! Preach it!
AMEN!
